Popinfusion is a brand new band for younger players directed by Charlotte Curwen. It welcomes brass, wind and percussion players to play in a friendly and fun atmosphere. We also welcome all other musicians with some experience on any other instrument, who are interested in learning to play percussion.
Come and play some fun and familiar tunes, while learning musical skills like ensemble playing and improvisation, with lots of fun thrown in.
Come along to any rehearsal this summer term and try for free, with no obligation.

Castle Street Centre, Kendal
When?
FREE trial starts 4 June to 3 July, for 5 weeks
Fridays 5.45pm and 6.45pm at the Castle Street Centre
From 11 September 2026, on Fridays during WYO term time.
Who can join?
Wind and brass players with around one year of experience.
Percussion players with around one year experience of any instrument.
All ages welcome, with progression routes into Jazinfusion and the main orchestra for more experienced players.
Can I be in Popinfusion and the main orchestra?
Yes, at approximately grade four or five players move into WYO which rehearses directly afterwards. They can choose to progress to the WYO jazz band, Jazinfusion, or can stay in Popinfusion if they prefer.
What does it cost?
FREE FOR SUMMER 2026!
£33.33 per child / £57.50 for two siblings per term from September 2026.
