Bag Packing - players’ report
Low turnout of players and shopping due to appalling weather, even so raised over £400 so well done. Players thought it was good to have some people packing and some busking. The pre-planning went well and everyone knew their times slots etc. Further date to be booked.
Forum Representative(s)
There is a small core of players who regularly attend the forum, they would like more people to attend, so every section of the orchestra is represented.
Discussed the need to change the time of forum meetings and agreed to hold them during rehearsal break time in future. Noel agreed to an extended break for this. Will White later agreed to represent brass section as the new timing allows him to attend the meetings.
Discussed having a forum delegate attend part of WYO committee meetings as necessary to feedback player issues.
Scotland Trip
Noel advised he has submitted our application to attend The International Youth Festival in Aberdeen in August. This included recordings, past programmes, photos, references from professionals we played with at the 60th anniversary concert. We await the outcome of our application. The age limit is 26, so past players will be able to join us.
Video Camera Appeal (for WYO promotion)
No players have any contact for this, we need to appeal to parents and friends of WYO to help with producing a short film for the website, or still photos to music.
Facebook
There is face book site for WYO, which players can use for general communication and to raise forum issues with their representatives if they choose to. The WYO website will remain the formal contact point for information on concert, rehearsal dates and cancellations.
