Will Hay

Will led the trombone section for 3 years from 1995-1998, before going to Manchester to study music at the university where he played trombone in the university symphony orchestra and wind band.

After graduation, he moved to East Anglia and got a job as a lay clerk (professional singer) at Peterborough Cathedral. In 2003 he moved to Durham to study for a PGCE and after this moved again to Chester where he took up the post of Bass Lay Clerk at Chester Cathedral.

He now teaches curriculum music in two Chester primary schools and teaches the piano both privately and in local schools. His extremely busy life of teaching, conducting two local choral societies and singing at the cathedral, leaves him no time to play the trombone!

Will and fiancÚ Becky, whom he met at the Cathedral, have bought a house in Wales and are getting married next June.

WYO was the social highlight of my Fridays for a number of years, though I must confess that going for chips at the break was also a highlight for me too!

If you want to get in touch with Will or read more about him he has his own website which can be found at www.williamhay.co.uk
