WYO have been running groups for Double Basses, Horns and Oboes for several years and last term started one off for Bassoons. By playing together, under the expert guidance of a specialist Teacher, and sharing the challenges that their particular instrument presents, we have found that both beginners and new players make great progress whilst having a lot of fun.
We are now thrilled to be offering groups on Strings and Trombone which will hopefully be up and running in the second half of term. We are holding a ‘Taster’ session for each in the first half of term and prospective players are encouraged to contact the number below as soon as possible. The locations are likely to be in Kendal or the surrounding area, at times varying from 4 to 6pm.
WYO run these groups in the hope that several of the players will soon advance to the standard needed to join the orchestra. We have been fortunate with help from several Companies, Grant-givers and local Councils, who all support this scheme, so the group Fees are generously subsidised and, also, there are some instruments available to borrow.
They will all happen weekly, and if you would like to try them out, the first session is Free!
